If you and your husband are planning anything – a vacation, a movie, an anniversary – be sure to talk it up ahead of time and make good preparations. Anticipation builds and you’ll likely be more prepared as you’ve thought about it some (makes for fewer surprises of the bad kind).

This is great advice! All I would add is that it is important to be flexible as well. For our 10th anniversary, we had plans to take pictures at our reception site and then go on a dinner cruise. Unfortunately, Hurricane Irene showed up and cancelled everything! This could have been very disappointing but we saw it as a funny story to share later. (ok, to scrapbook later!)
