♥ ♥ ♥ 22 days to Valentine’s Day! ♥ ♥ ♥

Recently I overheard someone on the phone and in a very short span of time I heard a wide range of emotion in their voice.

I heard the speaker struggle to be calm and respectful, but a real sense of “impatience” was leaking through. Now I know the speaker and the situation so I have more than a good bit of sympathy, but it got me to thinkin’ about how I sound and how often impatience colors my words.

Staying calm and kind in the face of delay or annoyance is hard, but I honestly think it’s a mark of maturity and reflects the kind of love and kindness that God calls us to.

I’m going to have to pay attention to how I speak and practice things like “calm,” “kind,” and “respectful.”
