I took a tumble and hurt my knee a couple of weeks ago. It was a no-brainer to take it easy and give it a rest. I asked people to do things for me and let a number of things slide. Not unreasonable, given the situation.
The problem is, I slipped into lazy mode.
Last night I looked at my kitchen floor and noticed it needed a good scrub. I mentally dismissed it and then I realized I was now quite capable of doing the job. Then I realized I was ignoring all kinds of little jobs around the house. Time to move my lazy bones.

I didn’t know it could happen that fast. I had dropped my heart to serve and I let my sweetie do most of the work.
My knee is not totally back to normal and I need to watch what I do, but I can put on my servant’s heart and look for ways to love on and serve my husband and others.
I also need to take a look at how limitations affect what I do and don’t do (life has a way of throwing curves at you). Physical limitations change circumstances. They don’t have to change your heart.
Give your hands to serve and your hearts to love. Mother Teresa

I hope you feel a lot better in a hurry, and thanks for the gentle reminder. I think many of us may be guilty of the same thing. I know I certainly can be!

I know just what you’re talking about. My sciatic nerve knotted up just after our son’s wedding last November. That knocked me off my feet for 3 months, off my feet and still in pain, ouch! I’m still not doing as much as I was and I still get twinges in my back and legs. But I have picked up on the simple tasks which mean the most to my husband. I think we’re in a good spot now. Just this morning I was giving thanks to the Lord for allowing me to make love pain free again!
Don’t rush getting back into your grove, take rest throughout your day. Setbacks are discouraging. I hope you’ll be right as rain in no time!
Thanks so much. Yes, it’s a tough balance. I want to do more, but if you do too much too soon, you’re likely to have a setback. (Glad you are doing better too.)
