What Can I Do?

Ask your husband, “What can I do to help make your day better or easier?”

If you can do as he wishes, go for it. If you can’t, listen well and talk about options that might be possible for you. And you can always hug him and pray for his day.

Helping one person might not change the whole world, but it could change the world for one person.  Author Unknown

  1. Sometimes, it’s what should I NOT do.

If your spouse is terminally ill, don’t be ‘the realistic one’. Don’t say, “I saw this coming” when another horrible symptom crops up.

Be hopeful, because the only thing on which I can peg my hope…is yours.

  2. “What can I do to help?” How powerful is this? Yet, it’s the last thing most of us think about on a daily basis with our spouse. It should be a required password phrase before getting onto our phones each morning!
