April Overview

I’d like to introduce y’all to my new bunny – Willow. :) She’s 11 weeks old and around three pounds (she’s in a bowl so I could weigh her on my postal scale).

Willow (baby bunny)

I bought her at a small animal swap in a nearby town. Turns out she’s something of an escape artist. We lost her for the better part of a day and when we finally found her it took three of us to corner and catch her. She is now back in her (reinforced) cage and enjoying bits of carrot, pellets, and as much grass as she can munch.

Goal #1a – Read a book from Proverbs each day.
Goal #1b – Read daily from New Morning Mercies by Paul David Tripp.

I read Proverbs in the Amplified version this month. Changing up the version makes the reading a bit fresher because all the words are new to me. Still enjoying my devotional.

Goal #2a – Read 15 minutes a day. (I can read more, but this is my minimum.)
Goal #2b – Take two courses this year.

Books I finished during April:
The Great Divorce by C.S. Lewis
The Silver Chair by C.S. Lewis
The Last Battle by C.S. Lewis
  MiniFarming by Brent L. Markham

What can I say, I binged on C.S. Lewis this month and thoroughly enjoyed myself. The Silver Chair and The Last Battle are from the Narnia Chronicles. (I even pulled a marathon (while Paul was at the men’s retreat) and watched the Narnia movies.)

Courses:
Make Over Your Calendar course by Crystal Paine (it’s free!)

Nothing new this month. Looking for my second course. There are a number of eCourses in The Ultimate Homemaking Bundle (sale over) that is available starting tomorrow. I’m thinking the Create Your Intentional Life Masterclass eCourse, The Stay-at-Home Moms’ Year-Round Outfit Guide eCourse, or the Seven Day Hair Challenge eCourse. There are many other courses too, plus ebooks, printables, and some gift items too. As a collection of resources, it’s pretty amazing. Do check it out tomorrow (I’ll remind you).

Goal #3a – Fix my hair every day (no more brush and go days)
Goal #3b – work on my wardrobe

I’m doing … fair on daily fixing my hair (yup, I really need the Seven Day Hair Challenge eCourse). It’s not an automatic habit for me.

I did get myself some new jammies (I like the comfort of men’s pajama bottoms) I also wrote up a starting direction for my summer wardrobe and got rid of a few tops.

Goal #4a – Do Kegel exercises daily (with increasing numbers).
Goal #4b – Drink one more glass of water (than I usually do) each day.

Kegels rock. It’s amazing how a simple exercise done each day can make such a difference. I’m drinking more water and occasionally more tea (I like this herbal tea done up as iced tea).

Goal #5a – One Zentangle tile a week using my word list
Goal #5b – Birdhouses???

Zentangle tiles

I got a bit behind this month, but I finished out on schedule with the Zentangle tiles. No birdhouses yet, but I am collecting pinecones to make the roof (turns out this is the season for picking up pinecones, they are falling all over the place).

Goal #6 – Get rid of 500 items from my house.

I’m up to 86 items. (51 past items + 35 new items – 10 pairs of socks, small candle, sugar dispenser, 3 food items (change in diet), 2 butter dishes, paper organizer, small can of paint, bondo, 2 DVD teaching sets, gift bag, 6 tops, 2 books, mess of old coloring pencils, heavy craft thread, a sheet case, and a pillowcase.)

Goal #7 – Actually DO one Pinterest pin a month.

This month I created a bee skep for my garden (it’s about a foot tall). I can’t set it out until we get the garden fenced because I’m pretty sure a bee skep would make a great chew toy for the dog. Here’s where I got the idea, though I added some stitching. It’s purely decorative (I really don’t want bees living there).

Well, that’s it for this month.

    Willow is adorable!

The Silver Chair has the greatest articulation of faith and trust ever penned. Puddleglum’s speech to the Green Witch about living as a Narnian is classic Lewis.

I love that picture of your bunny :)! Willow herself is darling, but that shot is SO sweet :)!
