Face Your Finances

From time to time I remind y’all that finances are a pretty common stressor in marriage.

Like anything else, it pays to grab your courage, face any problems, and deal with them. Beyond that, it’s wonderful to know where your money comes from and where it’s going, with plans for the future.

That might look like finding a financial counselor or coach (or talking to a friend who’s gifted in that area), taking the Financial Peace University course, or buying the Ultimate Bundle Financial package (sale over) for practical helps that will work for you and your husband. (Don’t forget to get an app – try Mint or YouNeedABudget.)

If your husband won’t get on board, you can still be financially responsible and create your own budget for those things you govern like spending for meals and personal items. It’s always a good thing to model what you want and it will teach you a great deal about practical application (learning by doing).

A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went. Dave Ramsey
