Way Back Wednesday – Someone Stole Plan A

(Originally posted on October 24, 2016.)

So your date plans get squashed or your holiday plans get significantly altered by events outside of your control. It’s easy to throw up your hands and get cranky (I do understand, really).

Instead, take a deep breath, put on a smile, and look for plan B.

plan B

No, it’s not what you wanted. It’s not what you planned, but what are you going to do? Give up? Better to get creative and come up with something else to do.

Don’t let a cancellation or changed plans steal your fun.

Fight back with Plan B.

Think left and think right and think low and think high. Oh, the thinks you can think up if only you try. Dr. Seuss

One thing that has really helped squelch my anxiety is working with my reality and not continually being upset by how things aren’t as I think they should be.

For example, I might plan to do yard work on Wednesday. Wednesday comes and it is pouring rain. That change can cause me to freak out and be unable to switch gears and function well alternatively. I feel lost if original plans get altered. Part of that is my own brain. But, allowing myself time to sit down and reconfigure my day really helps.
