Be Interested … a Little Bit

I’ve mentioned I raise bunnies. I’ve been taking care of 16 newly weaned bunnies and some breeding stock. Recently I’ve been looking into new (and hopefully less expensive) ways to feed the bunnies and my DIL and I are talking about raising bunnies in a colony (we’ll see how that goes).

I clearly enjoy my bunnies.

My husband clearly enjoys me and because of that he is “bunny friendly.” He pays attention to my interests. He enjoys the bunnies … a little bit. He knows about them … a little bit. And he is a great supporter of my hobby, even building cages for them and helping me explore things like growing fodder.

I don’t expect my husband to become a bunny aficionado, but it sure is nice to have him listen to me talk about bunnies and help out when needed.

I try to do the same for him. It’s a kindness and a form of respect to support your spouse’s passions and interests.

What are your sweetie interests? In what ways could you support him in enjoying and exploring them? You don’t have to join him, but it’s a kind thing to be interested … a little bit.

People with the most interests live, not only longest, but happiest. George Matthew Allen

I am a quilter. My husband is not. I sometimes ask his advice and often show him my projects. He knows some things about quilting because of me and I appreciated his listening and input. He likes rebuilding old cars and trucks. It interests me because of him.
