A Choice of Attitude

So I have an escapee.

One little bunny managed to find one little hole in the fence and make its getaway. I’ve been setting out feed and tromping around in the forest looking for it and it’s doing a great job of playing hide and seek.

The other day Linda (the other MIL on the property) called to let me know that she saw a bunny by her shed. Paul and I dropped everything and ran out to find the little booger. Turns out it was a wild bunny and my escapee is still on the lam.

The point of my story is that Paul jumped up to help me. He didn’t ignore the situation. He didn’t grumble. He didn’t get all fussy about the downside to my hobby of raising bunnies. He’s there for me (and usually with a smile or a joke).

It’s rather humbling to have a hobby that’s gotten a bit out of hand (my DIL who usually helps with the workload can’t) and Paul has stepped up with the best of attitudes.

I’d like to think I’d do the same. When Paul’s interests or responsibilities go sideways, do I step up with a smile (or do I grumble and fuss)?

Just something to think about. How do you handle life’s surprises where they intersect with your husband’s world?
