A Shared Life

Sharing life with Paul is more like overlapping circles than slices of pie.

Let me explain.

I’ve had a number of gals ask how to make time for their husband when they are so busy. It’s like they are talking about pie and they’ve already assigned different slices to different activities – the parent slice, the work slice, the exercise slice, etc.. There isn’t much pie left for their sweetie.

I like to think of relationships as overlapping circles. My sweetie is a part of most of the other circles in my life. He isn’t a separate slice. He gets included in much of what I do (and I get included in what he does). Even if we’re not an active part of something in each other’s life, we’re aware, prayerful, and we discuss most everything.

We share life.

(Yes, it’s nice to make special time just for your man (and we should), but I’m talking about a change in everyday perspective. It gives a sense of togetherness and stops relationship drift.)

Where in your life would you like to include your husband more?
