The other day my husband and I heard little footsteps and then a knock at the door. We smiled because we knew we were about to get a visit from our grandson.
We called, “Come in!” and a small boy with an armload of rocks walked triumphantly into our home. He placed the rocks on our couch like they were an amazing gift, grinned at us, and then ran off to play.

I think his love language is rocks. :)
We can all smile at this because we understand the allure of rocks to a small boy and how giving rocks really is giving love.
I think the point to my story (aside from sharing about my cutie grandson) is that people often give love by sharing the things they love and enjoy. If we’re not careful we might miss those expressions of love.
What does your husband love or enjoy? Walking in nature? Good books? Sex? American history? … Rocks?
Do receive those gifts as an expression of his love.

My husband loves rocks, but he either finds them or buys them. I wouldn’t buy some for him as he knows what he wants and how much he wants to pay. We have gone prospecting and dinosaur fossil dig, and noodling which is opal mining.
How fun! I have friends who do likewise and they bring back the most interesting finds. As a suggestion, you might start looking for heart-shaped rocks. If he truly wouldn’t want them, perhaps start a collection of your own.
