The other day Paul said something that hurt my feelings.

At first, I thought I would say something, but then this scripture floated through my mind.
Good sense makes one slow to anger, and it is his glory to overlook an offense. Proverbs 19:11 ESV
It was a couple of impatient words after a stressful day. It wasn’t Paul’s usual MO, so I let it go.
I encourage y’all to examine those times when your spouse offends you. Certainly, if it’s an ongoing problem, you probably need to address it, but much of what happens is about forgetfulness, misunderstanding, or words carelessly spoken under stress.
Can you overlook it?

Thank you so much for sharing about this aspect of getting your feelings hurt by your dear hubby. Sometimes I feel like I’m oversensitive and that after 12 years of marriage I should have outgrown getting hurt by little things like words spoken in a stressful time but all my rationalization does not help. I learned from your post that I can get hurt but choose to let it go. Thanks soo much Lori
Glad it was an encouragement to you. I’ve been married 35 years and there are still times when we are hurt or bothered by something that is said or done. I figure it’s just a part of relating to someone who is human and different than you are. I know Paul’s heart and it’s easy to forgive and overlook most little things. If it’s going to be an ongoing problem then we talk it out respectfully.
