Most early evenings (we still have sun until around 8:30 pm) I’ll say to Paul, “I’m headed out to sit in the chairs. You are more than welcome to join me.” (Or he’ll do the same.) We have lawn chairs set up just outside our house in the shade. We’ve pulled up a couple of bins for “coffee tables” and we enjoy the view and our favorite drinks.

The invitation means his company is wanted, but I understand life and he may not be able to at the moment.
It’s important to invite your spouse into your life frequently (so they will know they are wanted and appreciated). The key is to be gracious when they have to say no (for whatever reason, even if you think the reason is dumb).
Enjoy life. Invite your man to join you often. Stay gracious if he says no. Smile real big if he says yes. :)
A smile is the universal welcome. Max Eastman

Wow..i would love to be invited, it is so much better than being shamed. You don’t spend time with us, is no where near as pleasant. Invited to be just there, invited to the party, the bedroom, the coffee table. Wow..invited sounds nice
