Different Doesn’t Have to Be Boring

This coming holiday season will probably be … different. There will likely be social limits that impact what we can do and there is still a fair amount of fallout in how we all do life.

The reason I’m talking about this way early is that I’m hoping to spark some creativity and creativity needs a little playtime before ideas take practical shape.

I encourage y’all to sit down with your husband and talk about what is truly important in how you celebrate various holidays. Then brainstorm creative ways to do those things that matter.

I will probably be more invested in mailing gifts and writing cards/letters. There is some hope that my Internet connection may improve this fall which means I can Zoom with family and friends. Paul and I will play our favorite Christmas music (probably starting sometime before Thanksgiving because we never can wait). We’ll make our favorite treats and look for activities we can do together and with our limited circle of family and friends.

It will be different this year, but it doesn’t have to be boring.

Talk it out now with your sweetie so you have a clear direction for your holidays. Have fun!

Blessed is the season which engages the whole world in a conspiracy of love. Hamilton Wright Mabie
