I raise bunnies.
When I first started I wondered what I was getting myself into, but very soon I realized that having something soft and cute to nurture was filling a personal need. Nurture is what I do. It’s, at least in part, an expression of my femininity. My kids are grown and the grandkids can only handle so many hugs. So bunny hugs it is.
I’m thankful that my husband tolerates my bunny habit. He does understand that interests and hobbies are a good thing and he understands my need to cuddle and nurture.
On the flip side, I need to be aware of and make room for his masculine needs to risk, wrestle, and engage life. He needs to pursue those activities that express his masculinity.

Right now he is wrestling with mother nature as he resculpts an area of land near our house (and that means sore muscles to be rubbed and extra loads of laundry). He is surely worth it. :)
What about your guy? Masculinity is integral to who he is. How can you encourage him to pursue those activities that express his masculinity?
Man is never so manly as when he feels deeply, acts boldly and expresses himself with frankness and with fervor. Benjamin Disraeli
