Don’t Worry, Be Prayerful

Every now and then I find myself worrying as I’m doing housework or some other chore. I feel pretty stupid when I realize I’ve just spent time worrying instead of talking to God, asking for His help, or asking for wisdom on what to do.

I finally figured out that “reminders” help me break the cycle. Little items around the house can remind me to pray. When I make my bed each morning, I can use my husband’s pillows to remind me to pray for him.

A post-it note on my computer, a coffee cup, or a prayer journal on my nightstand works too.

As a suggestion, pick something that you do every day and use it as a reminder to pray … for your husband, your marriage, or for the pressures of your day.

Don’t worry. Be prayerful.

… do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 ESV

  • Prayer Prompt: Ask God to show you practical ways to remember to pray (instead of worrying).
  • Couples Question: What do you do that helps you experience God’s presence?
