Congratulations, Laurie (great love note idea)! You were the 5th poster in the Needed: Ideas giveaway and have won a copy of Passion Pursuit (or the book of your choice from the Marriage Book Library). I will contact you shortly by email.
The other day I was sitting out front of our home and, all at once, I saw how far we had come with our fixups. It’s been two years since we poured the pad for our RV. At the time I felt so overwhelmed like we’d be forever a construction mess.
As I sat there, I took in our garden, the finished roof, the driveway and sidewalks, and bits and bobs of other projects completed. It was an incredible blessing to see our home taking shape.

Baby steps can be a little discouraging at times (it takes a while to get anywhere), but eventually, all those little steps add up and it feels so good.
What does this have to do with your marriage?
Same concept. You may feel that you’re not communicating well with your husband or that your bedroom life is dismal. Your life may be too busy and stressed or you never have devotional time with your sweetie.
Start with baby steps.
Kiss your husband each morning. Compliment him every day. Clean up one spot in your bedroom. Clear an afternoon to spend with your sweetie. Ask about his week and let him know that you are praying for his needs.
… and then keep at it.
I know it’s a bit disappointing when you can’t make big changes happen immediately, but one day you will look up and see significant changes in your marriage and home life. Then you can smile really big, give your husband a huge hug, and encourage someone else to take a few baby steps.
By taking steps so tiny that they seem trivial, you can sail through obstacles that you never thought you could defeat. LaRae Quy
