Grab your sweetie. Pick a show or movie. Snuggle up to watch (with munchies, of course). 

When it’s over, play movie critics.

What messages or themes were expressed by the show/movie?
Do you agree?
What were the motivations of the different characters?
Was there anything that really spoke to you?
What did you like most/least about the movie?
Did you identify with any particular character? Why?
What was the turning point in the story?
Did you learn anything?
How did the movie affect you?
Was there a particular word or phrase that’s become a part of the culture?

Learn about each other by the answers you give and see how the show impacts your perspectives.

If you have good friends who enjoy the movies, make it a double date and involve them in the critique. If you have a great time, you may want to make it a monthly event at your home.
