At the end of each month, I share with y’all about how I am doing with my personal goals. It’s a way of being intentional about what I want to do with my life. Making and sticking to do-able goals has made a huge difference in my relationships, with my overall health, and in chasing a few dreams. .
I’m bringing this up now because 1) it’s on my mind as we’re heading into the new year and I’m making new goals and 2) as an encouragement for y’all.
Change rarely happens when you’re just going along in life. It usually takes intentional effort.

If you want change in your life or marriage, now is the time to think about what that might look like and what kind of baby steps will get you there (big goals that require perfection will last about three days). Do you want to make more time for your sweetie? Talk to your husband about it and brainstorm ideas like a monthly game night or a weekly check-in time over coffee each Sunday afternoon. (Don’t make your plans too big, make them do-able for you and your husband.)
Having a bit of accountability is always a good thing too. At the end of every month, I know I’ll be reporting to y’all how I’ve done. I’m not a perfectionist about it. I’m learning to be patient and compassionate with myself, but it’s a way of motivating myself to stay focused and intentional about my goals.
What changes do you want to see in your life or marriage? What baby steps will get you there?
