Recently, I’ve had several friends share about how they are taking a break from tech (with good results). Some took breaks from certain forms of social media. For others, it was setting down all tech for a day each week. The idea was they needed to spend more time in real life and reduce the negative effects of being glued to a screen all the time.

How’s your screen time? How are the various forms impacting you and your marriage? What small change would make your day better?
Technology should improve your life… not become your life. Billy Cox

I really ned a good tech-break
every email seems a spammer;
I’d turn it off, but habits make
Barb say, Dear, use hammer,”
but that would mean replacement
when life again went lonely,
so I’ll put screen in the basement,
and then I will only
sneak down there to read my mail,
start the game I like to play,
cringe at my wife’s anguished wail,
“You’ve been down there all this dang day!”
Silence would now be best of favours;
I’m at a new stage in Space Invaders.
