Way Back Wednesday – Have a Good Life

What a gift we can all give to our spouses, to be happy in and for them.

When I read this, it just made me smile. It is the sweetest of gifts to be on your spouse’s team. To care about them and be pleased on their behalf.

It reminded me of something Paul and I have been saying to each other (in one form or another).

I want you to have a happy life. I want you to have adventures, do the things you feel passionate about, enjoy your life!

I know, real life isn’t always fun. There are dishes to wash and reports to write, but you can grow an attitude of being on your spouse’s team. Encourage them to explore. learn, and build a happy life.

Invite your man out for coffee (or meet on the couch after the kids are in bed). Tell him you want to be the kind of couple where you are on the same team and help each other have good lives. What does he want? What do you want? How can you help and encourage each other?

My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style. Maya Angelou

  1. Thanks for the callout!

We faced the facts in the night
as I fought back cancer’s pain
that things aren’t really looking bright,
and that alone you’ll soon remain
to walk alone this road, dear wife,
but it’s my hope that you will serve
the Lord with all your soul and life
and never, ever lose your nerve
to do the right thing, every time,
as you’ve shown me how to do,
    and continue upward climb,
receiving all the praise that’s due
to the gal who plays God’s part,
to the gal who has my heart.
