Way Back Wednesday – Intellectual Intimacy

❤ ❤ ❤ 18 days to Valentine’s Day! ❤ ❤ ❤

(Originally posted on January 25, 2018.)

I shared with y’all I am reading Michael Hyatt’s new book Your Best Year Ever. I’ve been trying to set some goals because I feel like my life is a bit scattered and some projects are just not getting done.

Well, so far I’ve decided to slow-read two books a month (I can read really fast and I tend to skim read) and also make studying about the brain a focus for this year (early attachment and the effects of trauma are of interest to me).

What’s really interesting is that this has had a good impact on my marriage. Because I’m reading slower, I’m giving it more time to sink in. I think about it and tend to share about it with my husband.

This is adding to our intellectual intimacy. We have common knowledge and vocabulary. We have a greater sense of knowing each other because we are talking about our thoughts and what we are learning.

What are you learning? I encourage you to share with your man over dinner, when you’re out for a walk, or snuggled up in bed.
