You Name It

My husband has taken to calling me “ladybug.” (He knows I love ladybugs.)

Nicknames can be a sweet way to show affection.

Do be careful to pick names that build up instead of tear down. There’s cute and funny and then there’s “Oh, I’m laughing, but really that hurts.”

I knew a gal who called her husband “goose.” Not sure why (I was a bit afraid to ask). He seemed to be cool with it and their nicknames helped build their sense of intimacy and couple-ness, so no problem.

What do you call your husband?

What’s in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet. William Shakespeare
