We’re still hunkered down here in Washington. Though it’s been a fairly mild winter, there is not much we can do outside until the snow is gone.

The bottom level of the shoe corral is Newton’s new condo.
I’ve been developing my yearly goals and already I’ve had to make a few changes.
The last couple of days I just blew off my quiet time. When you’re avoiding your devotional time you know it’s time for a change of plans. I realized it was my Bible study choice. Reading through the Bible in a year was like trying to get a drink from a fire hose for me, so I’ve gone to a two-year reading program. I’m playing catch up, but it feels better already.
I am enjoying my Bible study. It’s so nice to have the challenge and insight of discussion with others.
I read Anatomy of Peace (it’s a follow-up book for Leadership and Self-Deception). The books are great. The titles are dumb. There’s a lot of introspection over how we view and treat others. I highly recommend both books.
Each morning I’ve been praying for my marriage. It’s softening my heart toward my husband and helping me see him as a person. It’s easy to have him fade into the fabric of my daily routine when I live with him 24/7. Praying daily keeps me focused on being engaged and thoughtful.
Sunday evenings are a hoot. Our grandsons love wrestling with grampa and stuffing their faces with popcorn. It’s good for us, the grandkids, and our son and DIL who get a weekly break.

The two-year-old calls it “op-orn”
We just bought Uno Flip and took it to family night. It was a hit.
No coffee with Leslie, but we did get to share a meal with her and her husband. It was nice to have real-life time with real-life people (they have both had COVID).
No card this month. I think I may just hit the dollar store and pick up some cards. I was going to make some cards, but that’s stalling me out because I haven’t made the time for it.
No study time just yet, but I’ve added a few more fruits and veggies to my diet and I’m doing well with the 6-8 hour eating window.
I’ve done fairly well with stretching and balance exercises (I need to be a bit more disciplined with the Kegels).
Paul and I are doing much better having one day off a week. It’s amazing what one day off without work responsibilities can do for you. I do set a pen and paper next to my spot on the couch though. When I think of things I need to do, I write them down. Then I’m off to play and rest (and I don’t forget my thoughts or have them weighing on me all day).
I’m starting in on The Marriage Bed this month. I’ll be working with the best and worst of the articles, improving content, SEO, and links. We’ll see how long it takes me to apply all the SEO stuff I’m learning.
I’ve been considering getting ahead a week on The Generous Wife. If I write an extra post or two a week, it wouldn’t be that much extra work and it wouldn’t take that long. I like having a cushion because life happens sometimes.
I’ve been creating content for Dandelion Hill Homestead and connecting with other homestead bloggers. They’re a creative friendly bunch. Very fun. :) I’ve also been looking at various dandelion recipes. I hope to make dandelion jelly this year. How cool is that?

My future jelly.
I’m about a week behind in bookkeeping because my Internet connection has been so bad. We were able to sign up for Starlink so sometime later this year I won’t have that problem. I’m so looking forward to that.
Housework has been tough this month. A part of it is being inside all the time and the other part is self-discipline.
I ordered seeds and have our garden mostly planned out. I’m trying Cinderella pumpkins this year. :) They are just so cute and they are somewhat bigger than the Sugar Pie pumpkins I’ve been growing.
Sadly. Pip lost her litter (she was a first-time very clueless mom), but I have a couple more does due in this next week.
No art this month, but I did clean out my art supplies just to see what I have on hand.
Paul and I have designed our quail cages and we’re gathering materials. There’s a teen on the property and he’s interested, so he will be a helping hand in building cages and working with the quail.
We’re excited about working on projects this year. The minute the snow is gone, we’re on it!

Bye-bye snow. Hello, mud season!
A friend gave up some large glass doors so we will get started building a walipini this year (that’s a greenhouse partially built into the ground, ours will be built into the side of a south-facing hill).
Well, that’s it for the short month.
