One of the concepts I’ve played with over the years in learning about generosity is having an “open hand.”

If I have something, am I willing to share a bit of it?

It might be a physical treat like sharing my cookies or it might be something less tangible like time. Am I willing to set down what I’m doing and give my time to someone who needs it?

I won’t say it’s easy, but it is life-changing. It challenges you to look at your heart and your beliefs. (Will God really take care of your needs when you’re giving away what you have?)

Take that leap and open your hand.
