Is there something you and your husband would like to learn? Well, now’s a good time (especially if you are both at home). Google is your friend. There are books and online classes. How-to videos are a big help.

Learn to make your own wine. Practice a new language on each other. Take a writing class. The sky is pretty much the limit.
It will give you something to do together and brighten up your conversations. (Can’t agree on a subject? Each of you picks something to learn and then you can share about it during meal conversations.)
Let us learn together and laugh together and work together and pray together. Jimmy Carter

It’s a process, now, of learning
this bright thing called ASL,
and though forced, it is turning
out very, very well.
There are glitches, to be sure
(sentence-finishing is bad!)
but these are something to endure
for there’s laughter to be had,
like in finding nicknames new
that quick hand-work will allow,
and so the one Barb’s going through
these days is that she’s “Hookem Cow”.
I sure do know how to pick ’em;
her last one was “She sings like chicken”.
Around our house, we have the “dumb shark” sign. Paul learned a bit of ASL as a teen and mis-signed it. It was so funny at the time, he kept it and now it’s a family-ism.
Thank you, Lori, for including my post.
I am working on learning to make sourdough starter and bread during this quarantine period.
Fun! Let me know how that goes or write a post about it to share the adventure. :)
