31 Days to Great Sex Giveaway

Sheila Gregoire has recently released an e-book entitled 31 Days to Great Sex.

Well, I’ve been reading a copy and I think it’s an absolutely terrific book. So terrific, in fact, that:

I’d like to give away a copy. Please share your favorite holiday date idea as a comment to this post and I’ll randomly pick a winner on Friday. (If you win, and you’ve already purchased the book, Sheila will send you a copy of her paperback, The Good Girl’s Guide to Great Sex.)

and

I’d like to encourage y’all to buy a copy as a Christmas gift for yourself and hubby or use it as a New Year challenge to grow your marriage.

Who is this book for?

This book is intended for married couples who want to experience real intimacy and ecstasy in the bedroom. (That’s a quote from her book. I just liked it, so I swiped it.)

What’s in it?

31 days of learning, sharing, growing and more.

Each day has a new topic and a new challenge. All aspects of intimacy are explored – emotional, physical, spiritual.

There are some technical sexual how-to’s, but there are challenges that have to do with attitudes and days of playing together as a couple. It’s like a really fun, crazy, encouraging workbook.

What I liked about it:

Sheila’s very understanding and conversational. I think you would have a hard time being embarrassed if you were talking over a cup of coffee at her kitchen table (OK, some of the sex talk might cause you to blush, but she’s cool about it).

I also liked the practical, do-ableness of what she suggests. Yes, there will be areas of struggle, but that’s the idea. Work through it all. Enjoy the easy and grow where you struggle. You’ll learn a lot and get closer to your sweetie.

So grab a copy of 31 Days to Great Sex. At $4.99 it’s a steal (or a really great and inexpensive gift).

As a lovely bonus, I’ll be sharing a guest post from Sheila on Friday when I announce a winner!

My DH and I like to take an evening (or afternoon) and go Christmas shopping together (when we have the funds to do so). We would enjoy a meal together as well and just enjoy each other’s company while having fun giving to others.

  2. Kristina says:

One of our favorite things to do for a budget date is make our own pizza. We’ve made all kinds of funky pizzas, but they’re always wonderful. And then we settle into the couch with a nice glass of red wine and a movie.

During the Christmas season, we like to grab hot cocoa or ice cream (even though it’s cold outside) and go watch all the people on the ice skating rink. It’s quite an entertaining scene!

  3. Traci says:

We fill a thermos with hot cocoa and drive around our town to look at Christmas lights and listen to Christmas music! There’s a light display at a nearby lake that is fun to see and an area church does a drive in light show that is synchronized to Christmas music. (Hand holding included)

  4. Rachel says:

Greg and I take Dec 14 for a date night to celebrate the day we got engaged. Usually dinner (at an Italian restaurant), maybe dinner and a movie.

  5. Lisa Johnson says:

my favorite date idea with my husband is to go ice skating downtown and then go look at the beauty Christmas lights around town.

  6. Tina says:

This past year and a half has been a tough on for my family, but especially for my husband and I. My heart stopped 9/2/2011 and I acquired a brain injury due to a lack of oxygen to my brain. I fell offa horse at Christmas. In January, my husband was involved in a car accident and he is having ongoing back pain. I will not go on with all the rest of the adventures of this past year, but with all the changes that have happened in my personality, our marriage has gone into survival mode. I am learning what I like and don’t like, hubby is learning to live with my changes.

One thing that hasn’t changed is That we like tea. Our holiday date is going to be to go to a little log cabin, have a high tea, learn a bit about herbs and just have a wonderful time connecting over our tea.

  7. Karla says:

Grabbing a cup of coffee to go and driving around looking at lights. Holding hands and just enjoying each other’s company without interruption!

  8. Silia Andresen says:

My husband and I have a Christmas tradition. We’ve done this with friends and family as well as together on a date. We have a meal together, it can either be a romantic dinner at home, or if we have the funds, a dinner out in our favorite restaurant. Then after we have shared a meal together we go out “light hunting”. We seek out neighborhoods that are all decorated for Christmas and drive around looking at the lights, daydream about some of the neighborhoods (gawk at the homes) and talk for hours. We come away from it so close to each other. It’s awesome.

  9. Anessa says:

I love driving around looking at lights while enjoying hot cocoa and Christmas music. I mostly enjoy getting my husband’s undivided attention during this time.

  10. Heather huron says:

I’m planning on doing a candlelight dinner by the Christmas tree this year!

  11. Sunshine says:

We like to grab a thermos of coffee or hot chocolate and a Christmas CD and hop in the car for a tour of Christmas lights in our area. It’s something we usually do with the kids, but once in awhile we like to have a Christmas lights trip all to ourselves!

  12. Rebecca Bryant says:

We love grabbing a cup of yummy coffee and driving through a beautiful neighborhood. With lots of lights. We drive, laugh, talk and connect again!
If we want to stay in, after the kids go to bed we snuggle on the couch with hot cocoa and chocolate popcorn and watch a fun Christmas movie, pausing every now and then to sneak a smooch!

  13. Bethany says:

Yay, giveaway! This is our first Christmas as a married couple, so I am looking forward to hearing other people’s suggestions. I think my favorite so far was going to get a live tree together. Sitting in front of it doing otherwise normal stuff is also pretty great.

  14. Lora says:

Lovemaking by Christmas tree light is very romantic…and fun!! With 3 little ones and holiday guests it is not always an option, but we make it happen when we can. Maybe we need to put a little tiny tree in our bedroom.

  15. Amanda c says:

My husband and I are taking a day to ourself to go eat and go to the movies. We always try to spend Christmas Eve together after the kids go to bed.

  16. Sunny Liu says:

If we still lived in PA we’d go to Longwood gardens to see their gorgeous Christmas lights and walk around the garden hand in hand :) now I gotta go find a good garden with lights in FL.

  17. Danielle says:

Our favorite way to celebrate Christmas eve (so far) has been to go to our favorite restaurant for an early dinner, then to the Christmas eve service at our church. Because of my husbands job, we haven’t been able to every year (and won’t get to this year) but it is such a fun, festive way to bring in Christmas eve.

  18. Whitney says:

My husband and I love just grabbing a festive seasonal coffee drink at a coffee shop like Starbucks with loads of Christmas atmosphere and having lovely chats.

  19. Carol says:

My Husband and I enjoy going to Barnes and Nobles. We purchase a coffee drink and browse through books.

  20. Emily G says:

Looking at Christmas lights can be both fun and romantic. We actually found a neighborhood with tons of lights so we parked the car and got out for a nice walk (it’s warm here).

  21. Amy M says:

Our favorite holiday date has been to go to a Christmas concert by some of our favorite musicians- Denver and the Mile High Orchestra. We’ve done it twice now in our 10 years of marriage. Another favorite involves just staying home since we have 4 young children. We like putting the kids to bed, make a fire in the fireplace and sit by the tree and talk together by the light of the fire and our Christmas tree.

  22. Dawn says:

Hot chocolate or hot apple cider, reading a book together, snuggling in front of the fireplace. My husband and I plan to spend a few holiday evenings this way!!

  23. Genie says:

My husband and I have a tradition of choosing a child about 9 to 12 years old(whose list specifies that he/she wants a bicycle) from the Salvation Army’s Christmas tree at a local store. We started the bike purchase several years ago because we want to encourage physical activitiy in our overweight Southern city and because we are blessed to be able to afford to give a bike. On our “date”, we pick out the bike with a lot of thought and care, along with a great looking but well made helmet (and maybe some other small items off the list). After we finish our shopping, which is always a fun experience, we share an inexpensive treat such as a capuccino, which gives us some nice couple time to talk during such a busy season. As we open our gifts on Christmas, we always talk about and pray for the bike recipient and express our hope that the bike (and helmet) gets lots of use.

  24. Debbie says:

We have two…1st some weekend before Christmas my MIL has the grand kids (4 under 4) come over for a sleep over so my SIL &BIL, my hubby & I get a date night before Christmas. We usually do dinner and a movie, and finish up shopping. 2nd Christmas Eve after the kids are in bed we put on our ‘Santa pjs…the spicy ones we don’t let the kids see :-) put out all the presents under the tree, then off to the bedroom for a ‘Christmas’ gift to each other ;-)

  25. Geneva says:

My husband and I have had the most fun doing simpler things. We love getting a hot chocolate or coffee during the holidays and heading to downtown Baltimore (close to us) and seeing all the Christmas lights on 34th Street in Hampden. So fun! :)

  26. Susan K says:

Looking at Christmas lights and warming up against hubby!

  27. Tara says:

We always take one day to go Christmas shopping just the two of us. Then we will grab a bite to eat.

  28. Katie says:

My DH and I go to the local planetarium and watch the Christmas Star show. It is very educational when we aren’t trying to sneak kisses.

  29. jill hoke says:

We like to go to the mall, split up and shop for each other, and meet back at the food court for lunch.

  30. Kathy says:

A favorite Christmas date in recent years has been the Company Christmas Party. I am a pretty no-frills girl, but for this party I get all dressed up and even wear some makeup!

  31. Elizabeth says:

My fave holiday date idea is going and helping others because that is what gets my hubs pumped up and feeling really good. Then we could go to dinner and reflect on the experience. Then it’s time for some hanky panky!!!

  32. Janet says:

We like to get away to a resort for a night or two during the holidays if we can – fireplace, hot tub, movies, no agenda.

  33. Brenda wilkerson says:

We enjoy an evening at Busch gardens christmastown for a holiday date. Walking hand in hand through the park enjoying Christmas music and the decorations, watching the shows and enjoying hot chocolate and funnel cake while enjoying just being together is a great way to enjoy a date night during the holidays.

  34. Tammy says:

We have lots of favorite Christmas dates. He’s not a huge shopper, so it is incredibly awesome of him to take an afternoon to spend Christmas shopping together. We usually make it fun by stopping at his favorite eat out place or getting coffee refills. This year for the first time he is taking me to the Newsboys Christmas Concert. Of course the added treat is getting to watch our son play the Little Drummer Boy with them on his snare drum.

  35. VeronicaS says:

On Christmas evening, after festivities start to wind down, my husband and I like to go to the movies. This doesn’t get to happen every Christmas, so when it is possible, I love it all the more.

  36. Cathy says:

As he leaves for work, I whisper in my husband’s ear what I’m planning for the evening and he calls it “the gift that keeps on giving”. All day long he anticipates our time together — and so do I! Some jazzy Christmas music and a lil’ red silk … wheeeee! it’s a FUN holiday tradition!

  37. Bridgett says:

It’s not actually a date, but a holiday tradition…each year we write each other a Christmas letter. We have a special Christmas box on our coffee table that holds all the Christmas letters we have written to each other the past years.
We read them outloud to each other on Christmas day.

  38. Amy says:

I just cherish time with my husband since life is busy and even more so with kids. So every December we take a Saturday to get away. Grandparents babysit and we go Christmas shopping. It isn’t a successful day if we finish our list, although that is a bonus. But what makes it a success is time to enjoy a day to talk (with no kids interrupting), walk around, share coffee on a break, laugh over silly things in store, or silly frantic shoppers. It is just a nice day together. We always have our coffee break mid-day and we always plan it to have either lunch or dinner out together. It is amazing over the years the really deep things we have talked about on this day, or the really tough issues we have talked over (it seems like our guards are down when it is a fun day and things just get discussed more easily). It is a day we look forward to every year!

  39. Diana says:

My favorite holiday date idea is decorating the Christmas tree together. My husband moved here from Venezuela December 10, 2011 and I waited to decorate the tree with him last year because he had never really decorated a tree before! This year was extra special because we were able to reflect on how in a year we got married, he started new jobs and we have made it through almost a year of marriage together! Christmas is an awesome time to celebrate and reflect!

  40. Charvel says:

Go ice skating. If you live in a climate that allows there are usually out door rinks that are all lit up and play Christmas music. If your kids are old enough they can skate on their own and you can spend quality time with the hubs.

  41. Tammy says:

My favorite date during the holidays is to send or children to grandma’s for the evening our put them to bed early, get takeout from a favorite restaurant and sit at the coffee table (covered with a table cloth &candles). We have dinner by the light of the Christmas tree and of it’s cold enough, a fire in the fireplace. That way we still have our favorite food in a romantic place with out lots of noise and no one it’s trying to “turn”our table.

  42. Sheryl says:

We have a park in our city that decorates for Christmas with tons of lights and decorations. It is beautiful in the evenings. I love going out for dinner in the area, then taking a walk in the park, holding hands and chatting. It is simple, but so romantic!

  43. JR says:

Our favorite date-night is turning on Chrismtas music, turning down the lights, and relaxing together on the loveseat… Thanks for the giveaway!

  44. melissa says:

We don’t get too do too much during the holiday season *just the two of us* since it’s a busy time of year for my husband. I’m thinking of picking up a movie for us to watch on a less busy weeknight. We also try not to do a date earlier in the month as a way to save up for our Anniversary at the end of the month!

  45. Anissa says:

We get all fancied up and have a candlelight and christmas lights dinner at home.

  46. Signe says:

My husband and I have adopted the idea of the shared stocking. After getting Christmas Eve prep done for our six kiddos we get out the stocking where in the past we’ve had fun lingerie, intimate games/toys. Some years when we’ve been on a tighter budget I don’t buy anything new, I’ll just put something in we haven’t used for a while. In any case it puts us in a holiday mood to welcome the kids, who are usually up a couple hours after we get to bed.:)

  47. Heather Allyce says:

We have a little guy, so it not so easy to go out for date night! Instead, a hot cup of cocoa, nothing but Christmas lights on, and a stack of Coffee Talk cards from http://www.desiringvirtue.com is our idea of a holiday date night :) The cards provide questions we don’t usually think to ask each other and provoke a lot of talk! The coziness of Christmas lights and hot cocoa in the comfort of our home is awesome!

  48. Cyndi L says:

My husband and I have a tradition for many years of getting in the car on Christmas Eve with a Christmas CD and driving around to look a lights, singing along with the music. It started when the children were little and we’ve continued it long after they’ve grown and gone. I’d loveto win the book – it goes along with the journey I’m documenting on my blog sensationalsixty.wordpress.com. Thanks and happy holidays!

  49. Katy says:

My dh and I love to go look at Christmas lights so for our special night we usually finish up any Christmas shopping that needs to be done go out for dinner and on our way home drive through some neighborhoods and look at the lights.

  50. Kim says:

We like to go to a late movie on Christmas Eve. When the movie’s over its often after midnight and there is hardly anyone out and about. It’s very peaceful!!
