31 Days to Great Sex Giveaway

Sheila Gregoire has recently released an e-book entitled 31 Days to Great Sex.

Well, I’ve been reading a copy and I think it’s an absolutely terrific book. So terrific, in fact, that:

I’d like to give away a copy. Please share your favorite holiday date idea as a comment to this post and I’ll randomly pick a winner on Friday. (If you win, and you’ve already purchased the book, Sheila will send you a copy of her paperback, The Good Girl’s Guide to Great Sex.)

and

I’d like to encourage y’all to buy a copy as a Christmas gift for yourself and hubby or use it as a New Year challenge to grow your marriage.

Who is this book for?

This book is intended for married couples who want to experience real intimacy and ecstasy in the bedroom. (That’s a quote from her book. I just liked it, so I swiped it.)

What’s in it?

31 days of learning, sharing, growing and more.

Each day has a new topic and a new challenge. All aspects of intimacy are explored – emotional, physical, spiritual.

There are some technical sexual how-to’s, but there are challenges that have to do with attitudes and days of playing together as a couple. It’s like a really fun, crazy, encouraging workbook.

What I liked about it:

Sheila’s very understanding and conversational. I think you would have a hard time being embarrassed if you were talking over a cup of coffee at her kitchen table (OK, some of the sex talk might cause you to blush, but she’s cool about it).

I also liked the practical, do-ableness of what she suggests. Yes, there will be areas of struggle, but that’s the idea. Work through it all. Enjoy the easy and grow where you struggle. You’ll learn a lot and get closer to your sweetie.

So grab a copy of 31 Days to Great Sex. At $4.99 it’s a steal (or a really great and inexpensive gift).

As a lovely bonus, I’ll be sharing a guest post from Sheila on Friday when I announce a winner!

This is our 2nd Christmas as a married couple so we are still making “traditions” but any time we have together is wonderful (shopping, our looking at Christmas lights, baking together)

  2. Heather says:

The date idea that we are about to use again is specific to the town we live in. We make up a thermos of hot chocolate (my hubbys fave) and drive over to the riverwalk. We walk around the alamo which we always park by and then head down the steps to the river. facilitators decorate the riverwalk so well this time of year. We walk around and enjoy the sights and watch the people and sip the hot choc. If we have an extra $14…we jump on a barge and ride around the entire river so we can see it all and hear the old-to-us story about the history once again. Love it

My husband and I go out on one weekend and do all our Christmas shopping. Once we are finished, we go out to dinner at a really nice restaurant, one that we haven’t tried before or one that we’ve only been to maybe once. When we are finished we go home and watch either a good movie on TV or get a movie we haven’t seen before and snuggle on the couch.

  4. Joy says:

We like to go for a walk, or shovel the driveway if there’s a layer of fresh snow. When we come back inside all cold and rosy it’s lovely to sit by the wood stove sipping hot cocoa and playing backgammon.

  5. Lisa Blanco says:

My hubby and I normally ask his parents to watch our 3 boys so that we can spend the day shopping for them. After were done with shopping we usually stop somewhere and get some lunch or dinner depending on the time and we also stop for hot chocolate!

  6. Christy says:

We have been married for almost 16 years but a few years ago I realized the Christmas season is just crazy, especially with kids in the house. A few years ago I went to Target and bought a stocking that had the word nice on one side and naughty on the other. Every year I find some AMAZING lingerie I know my husband will love and along with some candles, massage oil etc. I fill up the stocking and place it on his pillow right before we leave for our Christmas Eve service. We get home and our main goal is to get the girls in bed and then he opens his stocking and we spend some time bringing in Christmas together. :)

  7. Jenny says:

My Dh proposed to me on Christmas so I find it special. My favorite time is when we get a tub of Ben & Jerry’s Ice cream (to bad we can’t find wavy gravy anymore) and sit in front of the christmas tree just the two of us and eat it together. No bowls just spoons and each other :)

  8. rebecca says:

A date at the art museum is always festive and romantic. Beautiful lights and decorating, yet inside you never know what awaits!

  9. Joann says:

My favorite is similar to several others already posted. Either drive around and look at the lights, or, if the timing works, on Christmas Eve, drive to an area of town that has lots of luminarias or farolitos(Spanish/Mexican tradition of lighting the way of the Christ child and wander through the neighborhoods. They are truly lovely.

  10. Colleen says:

My husband and I like to go out for one or two hours just for a quick bite to eat or even grocery shopping/shopping in general, without the kids.

  11. Casey says:

My perfect holiday date idea would be to take the train into NYC, see the Rockefellar tree, walk through Central Park and have dinner at a cute restaurant in Little Italy. The city is always so pretty around Christmas time!

  12. Sue says:

We’ll be celebrating our 33rd anniversary in a few days. We try to take a day to finish our Christmas shopping and spend the day together. We end it with a nice dinner out. It’s a breather in our crazy holiday schedule.

  13. Stacey says:

I think sitting at home with a cup of hot tea and watching an old Christmas movie is about as good as it gets here. Date nights are few and far between.

We always pick out a live Christmas tree together. Then while he’s setting it up, I get out the home-made Christmas cookies & hot spiced cider and we enjoy these as we decorate our tree together.

  15. Sarah says:

Well, we have five kiddos in the house, ages 3 months to 8 years. We moved across the country this year, and there have been a lot of sad changes in my husband’s family. At this point in our lives, my favorite holiday date involves curling up in front of the Christmas tree and playing Christmas music while we have a cup of tea and catch up on each other’s day. Even though we do this almost every evening during the Christmas season, we never get tired of this “date!” A close second would be the time we spend crafting gifts for the kids while they sleep.

  16. Carmon says:

My hubby and I always take time out while Christmas shopping, to eat at Pappas Seafood (a rare treat), and catch a movie. Having five kids, we don’t have much time to ourselves, so it’s the little things that count!

  17. Amy K says:

My husband and I love to bundle up and try to find some snow in the mountains!

  18. Holli says:

We don’t always get much time for dating, especially during the holidays. But one thing we love to do is grab a hot cocoa and browse the books at our local bookstore.

  19. Sara says:

We love to drink hot cider and watch a funny holiday movie together at home. It’s a great way to wind down after a busy day or week!

  20. Sheila says:

We love to get hot chocolate or milkshake and then drive around looking at the awesome Christimas Displays and lights around our awesome town! Even go do a Pedi & Mani together! Just spending quality time visiting while looking at the lovely displays of lights! So fun to look forward to each year when the boys were younger, now they are grown and we continue this family tradition just the two of us!

  21. Sara Catherine says:

Our favorite Christmas movie is Love Actually. Each year we take one evening to order pizza and watch the movie together. It’s always nice to have a quiet evening together during the otherwise hectic holiday season.

  22. Heidi says:

Some couch time in front of the wood stove.

  23. Sydney Wood says:

Spending quality time with my wife. Seasons Greetings!

  24. Barbara says:

My birthday is the 22nd of December and for the last three years my husband has taken me away to one of our favorite coastal towns for a getaway on /around my birthday. It is a wonderful way to celebrate my b-day as well as to destress and focus on each other at this busy time of year!

  25. Nora says:

Our favorite Holiday date night is after going out to eat, we go shopping for each other within the same store…not that easy knowing that your partner is somewhere within the same store possibly sneaking to see what you are buying or vise versa…lots of excitement and laughs. We have already ordered this book but would love the chance to get the Good Girls Guide

  26. Rachael says:

I’ve not done this, but I like the idea of a special, just the two of us gift opening on Christmas eve. After Doctor Destructo goes to bed, with the tree lights on and some candles, we open a gift or two that is just for us. I’ve got some ideas. The hard part is that Hubby finds gift choosing really difficult and stressful and we are both tightwads. I think this will make for an awkward first several years, but would be worth it later on.

  27. Hailey says:

Cozy time in front of a warm fire and twinkling tree!

  28. Tricia says:

Don’t get too many date nights with 4 kids, but taking a drive to see the lights is good. :-)

  29. Karen says:

    Seeing the Christmas lights.

  30. Erica says:

Going to see a holiday orchestra concert or the “Nutcracker Ballet” when it is in town!

  31. Tabitha says:

Snowshoeing through the winter wonderland with a visit to our favorite coffee shop!

  32. Tancy says:

I love to just sit and cuddle and talk and talk and talk. Then watch a good movie or vs… :)

  33. Shaundrea says:

One of my favorites is wrapping presents and playing santa claus together. We take the time to tell things we are thankful for during the holidays.

  34. Danielle says:

To make crafts with the kids

  35. Tamera says:

We enjoy snuggling up together with just the tree lights on, listening to a Christmas CD and making out on the couch together!!

  36. Lynn Pridgen says:

One of my favorite things is for the 2 of us just to sit and talk. We can make plans and share our dreams.

  37. Meghan Burkhart says:

My husband and I are home bodies. Our favorite holiday thing to do together is to stop by the local movie theatre and buy a big bag of popcorn (it’s the best kind!) Then we will get a Redbox movie, make some hot chocolate and cuddle together on the couch. Another thing we enjoy is baking together in the kitchen. It can be so flirty and fun! :)

  38. Jennifer Shaw says:

We enjoy getting an Angel tree recipient and giving to those in need! This year we have a boy and a girl to buy for and we are celebrating our 3rd Christmas with our blessing from God! We have 2 grown daughters and found out Dec. 2009 we were expecting again!!!

  39. Chris says:

I will tell you tomorrow if it is our favorite or not. Tonight we are going to a High School Jazz Club Christmas Concert. It’s free and just down the street. The kids are with my mom and we can spend some nice snuggle time just the two of us!

  40. Jessie says:

Making Christmas cookies together and then eating them! Also playing Santa and watching Christmas movies after the Kiddos go to bed!

  41. Lee says:

here in central Florida there is an “uptown” area that has lights and Christmas vignettes all around the perimeter of a small lake. It’s fun to walk, listen to the Christmas music, watch the people and see the lights.

  42. Gillian Wenger says:

An inexpensive Christmas date night is to pop in a Christmas cd in the car, drive around and look at all the Christmas lights. Just some time alone to talk and enjoy each other’s company! Stop for a little treat like ice cream or hot chocolate to end the evening!

  43. Julie W says:

With young kids at home and so many Christmas parties to go to in December, that it is tough to get another babysitter for a date night our–so we have a Date Night In which is used to enjoy eachother in front of the Christmas Tree with beautiful Christmas music playing, hot chocolate in the tummies, and snuggling close together.

we have 3 littles under 5, so any date night is a great date night! our best would probably be dinner at a cozy restaurant, grocery shopping (was a fave when we were dating, so we reminisce) and then snuggling up while watching “The Holiday” with bowl of hot popcorn… mmm!

  46. Linda L says:

My cute hubby and I have a meal together and go over the Christmas list – dividing up the responsibilities. This only started a few years ago and he has experienced a much more manageable wife through the holidays ever since :-)

  47. Beth Parkinson says:

When all the family have gone home, take a day to ‘tidy’ the house- before you throw all the boxes away make a cardboard city in your lounge around the Christmas tree and have a picnic of leftover and watch a favourite movie. I love getting back to the simple pleasures with my hubby. Good to indulge the big kid in each of us!

  48. Alisa says:

    Would love to read this.

  49. Jessica Harvey says:

My husband does not like anything overly “Christmassy”, but we do enjoy long walks around our neighbourhood looking at the beautiful lights displays, in the warm summer air.

  50. Lisa says:

The Christmas season is usually so busy with family centered activities that I think I have forgotten to make some special holiday time for ” just us “… well that needs to change..thanks for the reminder!
