31 Days to Great Sex Giveaway

Sheila Gregoire has recently released an e-book entitled 31 Days to Great Sex.

Well, I’ve been reading a copy and I think it’s an absolutely terrific book. So terrific, in fact, that:

I’d like to give away a copy. Please share your favorite holiday date idea as a comment to this post and I’ll randomly pick a winner on Friday. (If you win, and you’ve already purchased the book, Sheila will send you a copy of her paperback, The Good Girl’s Guide to Great Sex.)

and

I’d like to encourage y’all to buy a copy as a Christmas gift for yourself and hubby or use it as a New Year challenge to grow your marriage.

Who is this book for?

This book is intended for married couples who want to experience real intimacy and ecstasy in the bedroom. (That’s a quote from her book. I just liked it, so I swiped it.)

What’s in it?

31 days of learning, sharing, growing and more.

Each day has a new topic and a new challenge. All aspects of intimacy are explored – emotional, physical, spiritual.

There are some technical sexual how-to’s, but there are challenges that have to do with attitudes and days of playing together as a couple. It’s like a really fun, crazy, encouraging workbook.

What I liked about it:

Sheila’s very understanding and conversational. I think you would have a hard time being embarrassed if you were talking over a cup of coffee at her kitchen table (OK, some of the sex talk might cause you to blush, but she’s cool about it).

I also liked the practical, do-ableness of what she suggests. Yes, there will be areas of struggle, but that’s the idea. Work through it all. Enjoy the easy and grow where you struggle. You’ll learn a lot and get closer to your sweetie.

So grab a copy of 31 Days to Great Sex. At $4.99 it’s a steal (or a really great and inexpensive gift).

As a lovely bonus, I’ll be sharing a guest post from Sheila on Friday when I announce a winner!

We got engaged at Christmas time at a nearby garden that does a Christmas light display. So we enjoy looking at Christmas lights together. Tonight we plan to go on a walk through some of the nice neighborhoods near ours and look at Christmas lights together in the chilly air. Romantic!

  2. Nick and Mendi says:

There is an old homestead in our city. Each year they do an Old Fashioned Christmas. When you enter the home, you enter a Christmas Party in 1809 with volunteers in costume and character. The kids are welcomed to ask questions. Each year mine ask where the Christmas Tree is and they look at us funny. “Why on earth would we bring a tree into the home? What township are you from where such customs take place? ” If our cell phone rings they act extremely shocked. They do a dance on the second floor. Each room has a character explaining how far they traveled, what their day was like, etc. Afterwards you go to the kitchen building where they have cakes and pies made the way they would have baked back then with cookies and apple cider. It is absolutely beautiful with all the candles and the simplicity. Afterwards we look at Christmas lights using a scavenger hunt. We have to find a snowman, santa, blue lights, etc.

  3. Rachel says:

We really enjoy Christmas shopping together. It’s fun to get ideas of what my husband would enjoy and also to pick out things for our kids and extended family.

  4. Susan says:

Great Holiday Date idea: we love low cost dates sometimes: Strolling downtown on a light snowy evening along the Christmas-lit, music playing streets; window shopping, then stopping for hot chocolate. No agenda, nothing to accomplish ; just enjoying the sights and sounds and most of all: each other!

  5. Cindy says:

Take a night to go “camping” under your lighted Christmas tree!

  6. Becky says:

Any date at the holidays is pretty shockingly amazing! With all the craziness, I love to just go out for coffee and talk. This is particularly great because we live in the middle of no where and travel to the city to visit family, so coffee is a treat:)

  7. Melanie Winkler says:

I as reading all the comments I was realising we do usually go out Christmas Eve and look at all the lights.

But what is nice to do (and it is summer here) we go down to the beach and get some fish and chips. And sit by the water. That is the best when the day has been really hot. We have some of the best beaches in the area near us. As hubby is a teacher and works long hours the holidays are the only time we can do this with no time restraints.
    That book would be great.

  8. Robin Gomez says:

Walking around and looking at the lights holding hands and kissing under the mistletoe.

  9. Amy B says:

Have a simple dinner, and then dessert and a warm drink while addressing Christmas cards. We also save a card from each year to put in an album. We can see ourselves growing together in the photos. It’s very special.

  10. Cassie says:

I try to find at least one day during the season on which my husband and I can shop together. We start by going out to breakfast, which sets a “date” kind-of tone–rather than a mad scramble for the last items on our list (which it might also be!).

  11. Nancy says:

Though we’re not as consistent as we’d like to be with date nights,w a fun idea would be to try an ethnic Christmas. Gather info from friends or co-workers of different ethnicities as to what activities might be happening in your area that might have some activities you’re looking for in your night out (ie: dancing, etc) and choose that as your night out.

  12. Tiffany says:

My husbands company throws a big party every year and we use this event as our Christmas date night. We get a room at the hotel and make it an ALL night event :)

  13. Ana says:

One of our favorite “dates” is to stay in, cook something new, enjoy each others company and eventual turn in for the night and watch an episode of whatever TV series we’re into at the moment. We made it through Prison Break last winter and will being 24 sometime soon.

  14. Katie says:

Grab some yummy coffee or cocoa, and drive around looking at Christmas lights. Cozy, and inexpensive = perfect!

  15. Crystal B. says:

My husband and I like to sneak off by either leaving the girls with someone else or after family arrives to our house (or us to theirs) and have go have dinner together at a place that doesn’t have a kids’ menu then we go and just wander around a few stores laughing at the kitsch that is always prevalent this time of year. It is a lot of fun and laughter at the random junk people think make good gifts.

    Wow sounds helpful & fun!

  17. Lisa says:

We like to go to our favorite coffee shop (after dropping our daughter at her grandparent’s) and sip our favorite coffees and chat. Sometimes constructively like our gift lists for family and sometimes less business and more sharing. When we are done we head out for a little shopping.

  18. Alicia Farage says:

Cavities holiday date night is picnic by the Christmas tree.

  19. Selinda says:

We are missionaries and live in a rural village. Dates are hard, but the sunsets are beautiful so we go out to a soccer field, sit in a tree and watch the sun go down. I love it!

  20. Jerri says:

Our first date (27 years ago) was on December 15th and we walked around “Christmastown USA,” a town in our state where the entire town is decorated for Christmas. Every year that we can, we go back through the town and talk about that first date many years ago!

  21. Meredith says:

Do a little Christmas shopping for the kids, grab a bite to eat, then drive around, look at the Christmas lights, and just talk. :o)

  22. Becky says:

Drive around to look at all the fantastic Christmas lights, and then go out for coffee or dessert or both!

  23. Becky says:

Drive around to look at the fantastic Christmas lights, get a coffee, and come home and snuggle in front of the wood stove in the light of the Christmas tree.

  24. We have a tradition of going ice skating at least once during the month. It’s fun to bundle up and go skating at an outdoor rink, hold hands, and hope that we don’t fall over and make fools of ourselves… but if we do, we use it as an excuse to kiss each other. We’re married, and in love, and we want the world to know it! We usually finish off the evening warming our freezing selves up at a coffee shop with a fireplace, sipping on a holiday drink or hot cocoa. I look forward to this every year.

  25. Jennie says:

We like to get hot drinks and drive around looking at Christmas lights holding hands. It can even work out if you have small ones who fall asleep in the backseat.

  26. Traci Mullins says:

    Looking at Christmas lights together

  27. Stephani says:

My hubby and I like to enjoy the beauty of the season and make time each other by taking a drive in the evening to look at all the Christmas lights in our town. We listen to Christmas music and either bring or stop for coffee on our way. I love just being able to enjoy the beauty with him and it doesn’t cost much :)

  28. April says:

My Husband and I usually head out to look at Christmas lights for a date once a year. We have been struggling with our sex life, I just dont know where my desire went and I think we disparately need something like this.

  29. Monique says:

Hubby and I love to get a sitter and go for a drive. I love looking at all the houses decorated with lights and holiday scenes!! Puts some wonder and sparkle in our holidays!

  30. Pam says:

My husband and I love to enjoy a meal together(when we have the funds) and just enjoy each other’s company while having fun.

  31. Sally says:

As we are getting older our memory can often use help! We have enjoyed having a casual meal out at the mall then strolling thru the stores and using our phones to take pictures of anything the other shows an interest in. This creates a great wish list to refer back to all year long when wanting to do something special either for a specific occasion or just to say I love you!

  32. Abbi says:

With 2 toddlers under 3, we take any chance we get to classify anything as a date! But when we do get out of the house with the kids, its usually dinner and afterwards doing something in nature, enjoying Gods artistry :) It draws us back to Him and each other, every time.

  33. Bobbie Jo says:

We make hot cocoa and set up the tree and decorations. We have fun and dance to the Christmas music and watch “A Muppet Christmas Carol.” We started it the first year we got married and we love that it is a silly tradition we have. :-)

  34. Rhonda Rhoades says:

My Husband and I head to the Plaza in Kansas City, MO for dinner and strolling through the Plaza streets enjoying the beautiful lights. We started this tradition 30 years ago and continue it to this day – we even take our kids!

  35. With three preschool boys (and a fourth boy on the way), we’re finding that we don’t get traditional dates as much this season as we’ve managed in the past, but we’ve started a new tradition. Almost every evening, after the boys are in bed, we put on some Christmas music, light a festive scented candle, turn out all the lights, and enjoy a few moments unwinding. Sometimes this includes a shared meal by candlelight as well. It’s a wonderful, inexpensive, and festive date. Last night we even managed to squeeze in a Christmas movie!

  36. Leah says:

Well one year my husband and I did a horse drawn sleigh ride in town. Oh, it was just wonderful. Now with four children, we usually just drive around town and through our local zoo to see all the pretty Christmas lights. Merry Christmas everyone! :)

  37. Denise says:

My husband and I always schedule a date with each other at the holidays, usually between Christmas and New Year’s. No matter what ideas we toy with, we always end up re-creating our first date(appropriate, since it was on December 26th!)- a good movie, followed by a long dinner at one our favorite Italian resturants, sometimes followed by a walk outside to look at Christmas lights. These dates are cherished for both the connection to our past and looking forward to the future year – together.

  38. KristenW says:

I enjoy snuggling on the couch just by the light of the Christmas tree or going out for a drive to look at Christmas lights. Hot chocolate and cookies too!

  39. Monique says:

My Hubby never celebrated Christmas growing up as his family are non believers. We got married a year ago and this is our first Christmas to put up a tree together. We made a date out of it. It’s also a time I am away from family, so he made it really special for me to help me feel I was at home because I am with him.

  40. Donnie says:

When my husband and I travel up north to his grandparents for Christmas we love to steal away some time to go for a long slow stroll at night along the harbours edge in Ruakaka (New Zealand). Its nice to just be quiet and enjoy having his hand in mine. Christmas can be demanding on time and energies but just being in his presence on a summers night is precious.

  41. Lori says:

My husband and I began dating 22 years ago right before Christmas and had no money…so we went looking at Christmas lights ….we even went for a swing on a swingset…..that first Christmas…so that’s a sweet memory and a sweet date night for us..

  42. Michelle says:

My hubby and I haven’t gone on a date in quite some time, but he actually has a surprise one planned for this Friday. So excited! When we do go out it tends to be to a sporting event of one type or another.

  43. Lisa says:

We love putting the baby to bed & snuggling on the couch together, watching Christmas movies under a blanket by the light of the Christmas tree. Our favorites are It’s a Wonderful Life & Love Actually :)

  44. Gerri says:

We are headed to my parents timeshare in the Black Hills for some R&R and to reconnect thru this busy time. We seem to have so many committments to others (and my birthday is Thursday), that we just need to take some time to be together!

  45. Christy says:

My husband did this for me our first Christmas and it was lovely… Stop at Starbucks for the special holiday flavors then drive to a neighborhood with lots of Christmas lights. We listened to Christmas music the whole way and it was a lovely evening of chatting about childhood Christmas memories and traditions that we want to make for our family!!

  46. Michele ºÜº says:

There is a place here that has an amazing light display. I love to go see this with my hubby. They have hot chocolate and funnel cakes and such you can buy while there. It is a very enjoyable evening together and romantic because of all the beautiful lights.

Last year I made shaped cookies and some colored frosting. We enjoyed painting the cookies together (actually as an entire family). It was fun to see my hubby get involved in something like this. It has become a new tradition.

I’d love to win Sheila’s new book. I’ll share it with my new daughter-in-love. ;)

  47. Melissa says:

Love getting take out, grabbing a new movie, and having date night in!

  48. Amanda says:

My favorite date during the Holidays was when we went to the Billy Graham Library during the Christmas season. We enjoyed the carolers, live nativity, and a horse drawn carriage ride along with the library’s usual offerings. It was such a fun evening!

  49. katie says:

Thanks for the ideas! This book sounds fantastic!

  50. Kyra says:

Our favorite date idea is going out to paint pottery, followed by some hot chocolate and walking around/shopping at the mall.
