I don’t know what it is, but lately, Paul and I have been more tired than usual. Perhaps it’s coming off of being sick (not the Cvirus) or maybe it’s just the personal stress of recent changes. Who knows.
At any rate, I decided that winding up ridiculously tired each night is not a bright idea. Reality is what it is and I need to set a reasonable limit for work each day.
This morning I decided to limit my workload to my morning and evening routines plus three important activities (something I want to do, the next step in a project, a necessary household chore, that sort of thing).

As I write, my morning routine is done. (My bed is made, I’m dressed for the day, laundry’s going in the washing machine, I’ve had quiet time with Jesus (with coffee), and my bunnies are fed.) And I picked these three activities.
Yes, sex is on the list. Physical intimacy is an important kind of intimacy in marriage and my poor sweetie has been living on leftovers as I crawl into bed at night. Our marriage is important and I need to treat it well. It takes energy to be present and make sex good.
I’ll finish my day with all dishes washed and the house tidied up.
How are you doing? What workload goals would be reasonable given this season of life? (It’s really OK to do a bit less and take care of yourself.)
There is virtue in work and there is virtue in rest. Use both and overlook neither. Alan Cohen
